To deal with the Corona Virus be Disease – 2019 (COVID-19) many arrangements were to be made by the government as well as paramedical unit of the society. The life of doctors is ruined as they can’t get back to their homes due to the security of their family. Many measures were taken by the government and administration to triumph over the battle of the pandemic.
On 22nd of March 2020, a nationwide Janta Curfew was commenced by the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. Janta Curfew was applied to prevent the spread of the virus. On the day of Janta Curfew, people were made to stay at their homes, except for those working in essential services like healthcare, security or media. This step also prepared citizens for the fore-coming time.
The nation-wide lockdown was applied in four phases. In these four phases the following provisions were taken by the government and administration:-
- Restricted people from stepping out of their homes
- All services and shops were closed except pharmacies, hospitals, banks, grocery shops, and other essential services.
- Gyms, Shopping Malls and Theaters were also shut down.
- Closure of commercial and private offices whereas, only work- from-home was allowed.
- All educational, training and research institutions were closed.
- All places of worship and historical importance were shut.
- Ban on Public and Private Transportation services.
- Prohibition of all social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious activities.
- Numbers of members were kept fixed for Marriages and funerals.
- Restricted restaurants for dine-in orders as only take away and home delivery orders were being allowed
The lockdown has benefited a lot in the reduction of the COVID – 19 cases in India. As compared to other countries, the rate of transmission in India is very low.
The government has released a major financial relief package worth ₹ 20 Crores to aid the citizens financially and to ensure the existence of small businesses. This step had also increased the liquidity in the economy of the country.
Now the government has turned to the unlock stage, wherein many things are being resumed such as Places of worship, Historical Monuments, Markets, Restaurants, Public and private transport, Commercial and private offices, etc. Whereas Metro trains, Schools, educational, training and research intuitions, Gyms, Shopping Malls and theaters are still being closed.
Even after all these provisions, only we can prevent the transmission of the virus. We must take care of ourselves by maintaining social distance, washing our hands regularly, avoid touching eyes, nose, mouth and ears, consulting a doctor immediately if we feel fever, cough, difficulty in breathing and loss of odour and sound.
But many people are still roaming outside without any specific reason and that too without taking the necessary precautions. It’s high time now to get awaken
Many countries are taking very unique and unprecedented measures in this pandemic. In United Kingdom, people are only allowed to go out to shop grocery and exercise for a single day in a week only. In South Korea, the whole population has been tested for the virus to get the exact scenario of the virus.
Many paramount events such as Tokyo Olympics 2020, Indian Premier League, and Indian Wells Tennis League have been called off due to the COVID -19 virus.
In these difficult times, we must be thankful to our delivery heroes who are working round the clock to provide us with food, medicines, essential items, and an unending list of products. This time has also led to promotion of technology and digital means. People are opting digital payments now days to reduce the usage of cash, Many E – Commerce companies has also suspended the cash on delivery option, and people are shopping each and every thing digitally to curtail the transmission of the virus. The Central Board of Secondary Education has taken a great initiative to announce its results digitally.
Due to these unprecedented situations everyone has suffered a lot. In these times we should not get depressed, this time is bit challenging but we have to face it boldly, calmly and strongly it will be all fine just believe in yourself and keep your morale high. We can’t unring the bell, but we can make things back to the track. Don’t keep any burden in your heart, just share it out with your friends and family and don’t feel alone in this hard time.
Even after the measures taken by the government we should take all the necessary precautions and should not step out of houses until an important work is there because our safety is in our hands only.
Beautifully penned down and consolidated your thoughts... Just like every cloud has silver lining this hard phase will pass and we will be in a Covid free World...
